Matisse and the Contemporary Paper Artists

Updated: Jul 12, 2022

This summer, a cohort of eighteen members of the PAC are taking part in an exhibition of paper art at the Rheged Gallery in Penrith. The exhibition includes Matisse: Drawing with Scissors, his late works 1950-1954, a Hayward Gallery Touring Exhibition, which features 35 lithographic prints of the famous cut-outs produced by Henri Matisse (1869-1954) in the last four years of his life. The wider Gallery features 200 artworks by 42 leading British Paper Artists including animation, origami, fashion, collage, 3-D sculpture and paper cuts.

The exhibition has been a wonderful opportunity for so many members to show their work in the same space.

The exhibition runs until 4th September and tickets can be booked via the Rheged website.

PAC members included in the exhibition are Annemarieke Kloosterhof, Cintia Bertaccini, Clare Pentlow, Hannah Miles, Emma Boyes, Kate Hipkiss, Laura Sayers, Lisa Lloyd, Mark Curtis Hughes, Naomi J Kendall, Nicola Dobrowolski, Pippa Dyrlaga, Samantha Quinn, Sarah Dennis, Stevi Benson, Chloe Campbell, Georgia Low and Laura Munn.
