Where the Ocean Meets the Land

Tell us a little about your piece?

Inspired by rock pools, as that's often the first way you get to experience first hand how much life there is in the ocean. One of my first memories of being near the sea was running around in my wellies at Filey beach looking inside all the rock pools, and it always felt quite magical.

What was the most challenging part of the brief?

The colour pallette was a little different from the tones I usually use but it was a nice challenge to make the piece my own.

What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?

Recreating a memory from childhood.

How did you enjoy working with the paper?

I thought the colours were beautiful and I love the fact that it is recycled from paper waste and the paper making processes are sustainable. As an artist who primarily uses paper as a medium, its something I always feel is important to factor into my practice.
