December 'Galena'

Tell us a little about your piece?

This piece was inspired by the geometric forms in snowflakes and in microscopic life forms found in water. As the piece has dimension, I delve into how we as humans open up or close ourselves to the people around us. How we show our different layers of our soul, and how this becomes a dance, or a type of movement between people.

What was the most challenging part of the brief?

The most challenging part was filtering all the sensations that December holds into a work of art. Creating a piece that represents the month into one form, one representation to hold it all.

What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?

I really enjoyed the process of directing my work towards a month I hold so dear. Filled with memories of the cold winter, of the steam from your mouth outside surrounded by snow and hot cocoa, and the twinkling reflection of the sun in the glistening melting droplets.
