Tell us a little about your piece?

I have woven a piece that’s all about colour. Where I live November is a time of autumnal changes and colours moving from greens through oranges and yellows to reds. In other parts of the world, November is a time of spring renewal with flowers blossoming. My piece moves through these colours from one side to the other, as the colours of November change as you move across the world.

What was the most challenging part of the brief?

The technical aspects of my design. I was weaving a complex hexagon pattern with tessellated shapes and each hexagon had to be woven the same way to make sure the lines flowed across the piece.

What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?

It’s been wonderful seeing all the other artists’ work being revealed and having a glimpse of how the calendar will look. I’m also very happy to be making something for Art Refuge.
