September 'World Letter Writing Day'
Tell us a little about your piece?
September is my favorite month of the year! It helps that it is also my birthday month, but I really wanted to work on a piece that highlights all of the many wonderful things that come to mind when you think about this time of year: changing leaves, layers, tea (or coffee or cocoa or all things pumpkin spice?), apple picking, back-to-school time, as well as, letter writing! My piece was glued down onto a custom perforated stamp sheet with illustrations that focus on World Letter Writing Day, which happens every year on September 1st. How can one not love a day dedicated to writing letters?!
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
I found myself really struggling to come up with things to illustrate around a central theme of writing letters and connecting that to all of the things that come to mind when you think about Autumn. When I personally think of September, all that comes to mind is my birthday so all I can think about are presents! I hope I was successful in bringing it all together in a giant stamp sheet for the PAC Calendar.
What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?
I loved designing a custom perforated stamp sheet in order to bring my idea to life for the PAC calendar. In fact, I ordered extra sheets to continue creating with this specific perforation for future personal projects.
