Peace, Love and Good Will
Tell us a little about your piece?
My family means everything to me. They embody the Spirit of Christmas, arriving home and seeing the wreath on the door is the signal for the fun and festivities to begin! My maiden name ‘Dobrowolski’ translates into English as ‘Good Will’ ; I wanted to create a wreath centered around the three festive essentials: ‘Peace, Love & Good Will.
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
Deciding on a design! I normally love putting people into my artwork & I had plans of packing as many layers of storytelling into it as possible, but eventually calmed down & decided to go for one simple concept in detail. Whilst cutting, I focused on enjoying the methodical process of cutting repetitive patterns whislt listening to Christmas Jazz and reminiscing on times gone by. Bliss!
What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?
Making something to a very open brief, just for myself and purely for the fun of it! That’s a rare and magical opportunity!
Photographing my work with @clickskaphotographer is always a joy. She always gets the shot we’re after and is forever bringing new ideas to the table, it’s such fun to be a part of that journey.
How did you enjoy working with the paper sent?
Trying out the new papers was lovely and they were all great to cut with. It’s not often that I use mottled/patterned/flecked papers, so it was a lovely opportunity to explore with them.
