Together Apart
Tell us a little about your piece?
It symbolises what to me is the essence of Christmas Spirit - being together with loved ones!
It reflects on the current Covid climate and how many young people (wether they're students, divorced parents, or due to living abroad) won't be able to see their family and support bubble, and are therefore separated during the holiday season.
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
To find a non-cliche way to depict Christmas, that somehow summarised the full meaning of all the emotions surrounding the holiday season... That, and cutting the tiny tiny tiny Covid-cells and Snowflakes seen on the snow globe.
What part of the collaboration did you enjoy the most?
Getting to test the shiny gold paper.
How did you enjoy working with the paper sent?
The papers are a bit thin for me, and they warp quite quickly under photography lights... but the gold is just so shiny and reflective it makes it all worth it!
