Which London landmark did you choose and why?
Liberty Building. When I was studying Three Dimensional design at art collage I went on a college trip to London and I remember visiting Liberties for the first time, at that point I had never seen a building like it and I have loved it ever since and make a point to visit every time I visit London.

Talk us through the process of making the piece.
I knew straight away that I couldn't build the full length of the building due to size restrictions so I researched lots of photo's to help me decide how to size it down. I hand drew the design into 4 panels, front, back and the 2 sides. This took several attempts to get right and involved lots of measurements and re-workings out.
After cutting the panels I then took a more freehand approach and free hand cut hundreds of tiny roof tiles and smaller detailing such as the foliage at the entrance to the building.

What was the most challenging part of the brief?
Working out the dimensions of the facades and timing. I had completely underestimated the length of time it would take to complete so there were lot's of late nights involved to complete in time.

What part of the brief did you enjoy the most?
Being pushed completely out of my comfort zone was the most rewarding. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and would love to create more 3D paper work in the future.
