Tell us a little about your piece?
I decided to create a 3D version of some smaller pieces I make of Yorkshire Dry Stone Walls. The colour definitely had an impact on what I chose to make, reminding me of foxgloves and hazy summer evenings walking in the Yorkshire hills. Dry stone walls really remind me of home, and where I love to be!
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
Definitely challenging myself with another colour. As I don’t often work in different colours, I wanted to make something that reflected the paper I had been given. I don’t often work in three dimensions either, so it definitely put me outside of my comfort zone and gave me some new challenges, but all in a good way!
What part of the brief did you enjoy the most?
I would have to give the same answer as the challenging parts of the collaboration! It’s always a great opportunity to try something new and take that forward with you once you have finished. It has definitely given me some ideas for new work.
