Tell us a little about your piece?
My piece is a 3D paper cut inspired by the disk florets of a flower.
What was the most challenging part of the brief?
The most challenging part for me was having to make friends with the colour Pink! I usually work in monochrome tones and sometimes venture into blue so when the pink arrived I was completely baffled and a little bit anxious as to what to do with it, I started playing with the paper and making little paper sculptures and slowly fell in love with it. At the same time summer was arriving and my garden started to bloom and suddenly I was immersed in beautiful bright colour so it made sense to celebrate the joy of pink by marrying it with a pretty flower design.
What part of the brief did you enjoy the most?
I loved being challenged to get out of my comfort zone and experiment with colour and different ways of cutting paper.
