Tell us a little about your piece?

Thinking back on alphabet books and artwork from my childhood I wanted to create a classic, quite simplistic alphabet piece representing something that started with the letter I was given. After a lot of pondering I decided it just had to be dogs as they'd be so fun to depict frolicking in and around the letter and showing off their personalities.

What was the most challenging part of the brief?

The limited colour palette was a welcome challenge. As I make quite literal, rather than abstract pieces it was tough making sure any ideas I had would fit in with my colours and not make the theme hard to understand!

What part of the brief did you enjoy the most?

I'd say the limited palette was both the biggest challenge AND the part of the project I enjoyed the most, it made me think harder about potential ideas and also helped me come up with things I might not have otherwise because of the restrictions it provided (pink poodle!)

How did you enjoy working with Senses Paper?

The senses paper colours are really vibrant and the paper held together nicely when glue was used, not warping or wrinkling. I was able to bend and manipulate the paper a lot without it getting ripped or fluffy around the edges!
